became the kelly green and white Huskies.
The middle school, elementary, and high school staff and students
as well as members of the community gathered at the football field
for a presentation organized by Monica Wilson and Becky Delimont
about the history of the district.
The 2007 NVHS cheerleaders wore uniforms from years past and did
cheers that were popular during their respective year the uniforms
were in use.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the release of balloons.
Purple and gold balloons represented the original Leopards from
Long Island , and the black and orange for the Almena Coyotes were
released followed by green and white balloons of the consolidated
district of today.
Past cheerleaders were recognized and cookies were served by the student council.
The celebrations will continue with a tailgate party preceding the homecoming football game on Friday, September 21st from 5:00 to 6:30 on the tennis courts north of the school.
