Girls Come up Short

The Lady Huskies met up with a determined Palco Rooster bunch as the Roosters, evidently, are still mad at us for the fact we beat them in the league tournament for the title. Well, on their home court and on their senior night all the moons were in the right phases as they jumped out to an 11-20 lead and never looked back going on to win 43-62.
The Roosters out did us in every phase of the game except free throws as we both made 9 but we accomplished this with three fewer attempts.
We just met a team that was very determined and as a result our totals were all down for this game. Our deflects leader was Joni Hilburn who hustled her way to 4 while Karen Wenzl, Megan Cole and Kenzie Chandler each had 2.
Stealing honors went to Megan C. as she took 7 from the Roosters while Jessica Largent swiped 3.
Rebounds were pulled in by Alison Cole with 10, Largent with 7 and point guard Hilburn crashing the boards for 6.
Assists were dished out by Christina Anderson with 5 while Megan C., Staci Dole, Hilburn and Largent each found 2.
We will take what we learned from this game, correct it and hope to meet Palco again. When we do, it will be for the Regional Championship.
