Dear Parents / Guardians,
What did you expect? …….. The track season started off this way ….. It is only fitting that it ended on the same note. What a great day it was though to get out and watch all of the talented students we have surrounding us. Having the high school students performing amongst the Jr. High instills more of the competitive spirit that makes track meets exciting. It is Thursday evening here at home and I am wondering how it will all turn out …… I guess we will see tomorrow when they go back to finish.
Witty quotes …… If it weren’t for the last minute ….. nothing would get done. Anonymous
As we are now in the last phases of the school year ……. I would encourage you and your child to decide what you wish to put in the time capsule from this year. It does not have to be anything grand. Sometimes, the simple things are just as interesting. Then in six years, when they are preparing for graduation ……. YEAH …… only six more years and they are done with high school. Kind of frightening, huh? Anyway …….. they will be able to look back and reminisce a little. :-)
Witty quotes …… If you choose not to decide ….. you have still made a choice. Neil Peart
In the coming week, we will be having our A – Math and AR party. Students that have done outstanding reading and made efforts to excel will be recognized. With that in mind ….. we will the year for points on Monday. That will give me time to calculate the points and determine who is receiving recognition this year. Thanks to everyone’s support of the reading program here at Northern Valley.
Witty quotes ……. The first rule to tinkering is to save all the parts.

We also have our 5th and 6th grade field trip planned for next Thursday, May 15th. We have sent home a permission slip. Please read through it and if you are in agreement, sign and have your child return it on Monday. I know the trip is not until Thursday …… but the sooner we get them back, the easier it will be on everyone.
Next week is also packed with plays and concerts from Kindergarten through eighth grade. What a way to wind down the year …… great track meets, plays, and tests. Yes ….. tests. I know it is cruel and unusual punishment ….. but we need to finish up the tasks we have started. :-)
