TIME TO HONOR MR. FESSENDEN

Your ideas are needed

by LARYL ROUS

May 14, 2008

USD #212 Superintendent George Griffith and the school board would like to honor Mr. Fessenden for his thirty years of service to our school district.  HE IS NOT RETIRING OR GOING ANYWHERE.  We would like to show our appreciation for his dedication and loyalty to the Husky Nation.

One idea has been to name our football field "Fessenden Field".  Depending on the amount of money available, either having a limestone sign (such as those that can be seen in Plainville by the company Sticks and Stones on south highway 183) or even a granite or marble sign.  Bricks could be purchased with the donors name engraved for the supporting structures and/or patio around the sign.

The Almena State Bank has agreed to handle the money if we want to launch a fund raising activity.  We would like everyone's idea on how we can honor Mr. Fessenden.  Using the feedback option in this article you can send us your ideas, and we can make public if you want, or keep them anonymous.
