Middle School Happenings

This week I am focusing on the seventh graders.  They completed the literature book, Our Sixth Grade Sugar Babies by Eve Bunting.  Instead of a sugar baby, the seventh graders had egg babies.  This proved to be very challenging and we had many cracked, “dead”, babies during the week.  They are a very creative class; therefore I am including all of the written summaries of their week as a parent.  They were to introduce their “baby,” tell something about their baby, and include the good, the bad, and the ugly about being a parent.  The seventh grade also had two new students added to their class.  Garrett Williams is new to Northern Valley and Tommy Hanes is returning back to us.  Enjoy the seventh graders versions of parenthood.

Samantha Caldwell Williams by Garrett Williams

            Samantha Caldwell Williams is a girl.  She is beautiful.  She has a family who will take care of her.  She is a smiling baby and a good girl.  Samantha will grow up to be a smart girl.  She will always be smiling and giggling.  She will turn my frown upside down.  The bad thing about Samantha is that she is scared of most things.  The ugly part is that she screams when I’m running and it hurts my ears.  The good thing is that she is beautiful.  She is a quick learner and she will listen to the teachers and follow directions first time asked.  She will be nice to everyone at school.  And she will help me around the house.

Misty May Dawn Bryant by Alyssa Bryant

            Misty has a great attitude.  She loves helping people, reading, watching movies, and going places.  I love watching over her.  It’s another thing to learn about watching kids especially ones that got left on the streets.  I had a lot of fun making and taking care of Misty.  There are no bad things except that I cracked her open four times.

LaDainian Yoko Tomlinson-Baird by Ame Baird

            My egg’s name is LaDainian Yoko Tomlinson-Baird.  LaDainian loves to play sports.  He likes to have friends over and party at his house.  His house is probably the strongest in the class so far.  LaDainian has brown hair and brown eyes.  The good thing about L.T. is that he hasn’t broken…….yet.  That’s probably because of my awesome parenting skills.  He is the best kid you could ask for.  The bad thing is he’s not quite old enough to stay home alone, so I have to lug him around everywhere.  He can get sort of rowdy sometimes when he has his friends over, such as Kobie’s egg, Mickey.  When I wrote this there was no ugly thing about him, until his accident.  LaDainian suffered from a football injury and his career is shot.  The doctors aren’t sure if he will pull through or not.   (I’m guessing no.)  He is in a full body cast and is having internal and external bleeding 24/7.  I knew there was a chance for this, but I didn’t think it would be this bad.

            I have a little boy.  He likes to watch T.V.  He is a very calm baby, he likes to sleep and be fed at 3:00 in the morning.  He throws a fit when he needs his diaper changed two times a day.  My baby is very quiet and it is easy to take care of.  It is fragile and can crack easily.  If it gets bumped it could fall out of its carrier.

Laurent Anderson by Gabriel Anderson

            My baby’s name is Laurent, she is a girl, and loves cheese.  She doesn’t cry a lot, only when she wants out of her tomb or when she’s hungry.  She’s a tomboy.  She likes to play football but never stays in one piece.  She can turn into dust then can turn right back into a mummy.  She loves listening to rap, and that’s what I let her listen to all night or she watches TV on her flat screen, or plays on her laptop.  She goes psycho whenever she see “Jacob.”  She has red hair.  The bad thing is carrying the two ounce oval around, and dropping her.  The good thing is you get to decorate the baby, and its house.  My baby lived in a box for awhile then got a job and got a mansion.  My baby’s spoiled.  I dropped my first baby, but Laurent the second doesn’t know that, but I think she might because she keeps on asking me why she’s Laurent the second.

Jacob Uriah Kasson by Macy Kasson

            Jacob Uriah is my baby egg.  He has been very good the past few days.  He does not cry or whine, stays in his crib, and does what he’s told.  Some of the bad things that have happened are as follows.  For instance, Jacob has some very “different” political views and assassinations have been attempted but he has eluded them all with cunning and skill.  Overall Jacob Uriah Kasson has been a very good baby and I love him very much.

Charles Scooter Bryant by Phillip Bryant

            Charles is a baby boy.  He has brown hair and green eyes.  He has lots of freckles.  There are lots of things about Charles that are good things, there are the bad things, and there is an ugly thing about him.  I’m going to tell you the good things about him first, he is very nice to be around, he is kind to people, he likes playing sports.  The other good thing about him is that he hasn’t been crushed yet.  The bad thing about him is that he has a crack on his back and he is very grumpy sometimes.  The ugly thing about him is he has lots of freckles, he doesn’t like them.  He has too many and he will break easy.

Mickey French Twirl Donuts Unterseher, Jr. by Kobie Unterseher

            My eggs name is Mickey French Twirl Donuts Unterseher, Jr.  The reason why it is Jr. is because Mickey died the day before I turned him in.  So now I have this little runt.  Mickey Jr. is a baby boy with brown hair and eyes but he also has some freckles too.  The good thing about Mickey Jr. is I haven’t dropped or broken him yet unlike his older brother, he wasn’t so lucky.  The bad thing is he really likes to go out at night and party with Ame’s baby and comes home very late.  The ugly thing is his diapers.  He likes to eat beans before bed so it’s not so good.  Mickey and Mickey Jr. have been fun all week long but now I have to say goodbye that’s so sad (NOT!).  So that’s my babies, thanks for reading, bye.

Lily Ann Whitney by Stewart Whitney

            She is very fun to play with.  She is very sweet.  She plays well with others.  She enjoys sports.  She is always annoying.  I have to carry her around everywhere.  She is very fragile.  She does not like washers or dryers.  She is very hard to find when ever she is gone.  She is very nice to every other egg baby in the classroom.  Her favorite thing to eat is sierra chicken.

Kyle Dean Cole by Clinton Cole

            My egg’s name is Kyle Dean Cole.  He loves to play football with his friends so he has a lot of bruises.  He also loves basketball and to go swimming at the pool.  His favorite food is sierra chicken.  The good about having the egg is…….that you can name and decorate it however you want.  The bad is you have to take it everywhere you go.  The ugly thing about them is that if they break.

Michelle Beasley Stutsman by Matt Stutsman

            Michelle likes to play basketball with other babies.  Michelle’s room is going to be upgraded into a basketball room because she likes to play basketball.  She also has a lot of friends.  The good part about having an egg for a baby is you can be really creative and build the baby a house however you like.  You can also decorate the baby’s face however you want.  The bad thing about the egg baby is that you have to remember to take it everywhere.  And you have to carry it around everywhere you go.  The ugly thing about the eggs is that my first egg baby I had was killed in a tragic accident and so I had to make another one.  And that she is a girl and she has a mustache and a unibrow.

Lil Timmy Nathan Cox by Brant Cox

            My egg baby’s name is Lil Timmy Nathan Cox.  He is a boy.  I’m not supposed to tell you this but he has a crush on Lily (Stewart’s baby).  He’s not a lot of work (because he’s an egg.)  I taught him some tricks like roll and when I yell SCRAMBLE he hides in his carrier.  Timmy is the best egg I’ve ever had.  Not that I’ve had more.  There have been some ups and downs with Timmy for both him and me.  For him the bad thing is Lily just won’t accept Timmy.  The ugly part is that just as Timmy was going to ask her out she cracked and died.  Well the good thing is that soon after Lily died Timmy got together with Khrissanna’s baby, Kenya.  There hasn’t been much ugly for me but there have been a few bad parts.  First of all the “y” in Lil Timm”y” won’t stick on his carrier.  Second I have to take him EVERYWHERE I go.  So he gets really annoying when he talks about his girlfriends.  The good thing is Timmy isn’t dead and I’m having fun.

Taylor Marrie Cunningham by Kortney Cunningham

            My name is Kortney Ann Cunningham.  I have a baby girl named Taylor Marrie Cunningham.  She likes to play with her keys and her teddy bears.  Taylor sleeps very well and eats very well.  She likes to run around and play basketball.  She has a purple coat with a duck on it and she has her own bath tub and bed.  It is ornery but she probably got it from me.  The good thing is that I have not killed it yet.  She eats a lot and sleeps a lot.  The bad thing is that she cries when she does not get what she wants.  She did not like it when we had scrambled eggs for breakfast.  She likes her bottle.  I had fun with this project.

            My first baby hardly slept.  She liked to watch T.V.  She also cried a lot.  She never woke me up at night.  My first baby died.  I had her in a tin.  I barely bumped it and she rolled over the side.  It was a sad day.  My second baby is just like my first.  She doesn’t sleep much.  She likes to watch T.V. also.  Her favorite show is Teenage Drama Queen, just like my first baby.  The bad thing about both is they are very hard to carry around.  You have to be very careful so that you don’t break or kill your baby.  My second baby is quiet most of the time.  I carry my second baby in an Easter basket so she doesn’t roll over the side.  I am much more careful now.  It is not easy being a mom at my age.

Austyn Lee Smith by Makayla Dawn Smith

            He plays well with others.  He loves sports, just like his mother.  He sleeps at night really well.  He is very quiet.  He does not take after me.  I talk a lot just ask anybody.  He is a very messy eater, but he doesn’t like going to the lunchroom when I take him to my school though, I don’t know why.  He also takes Mylicon drops when he gets gassy, but it’s a part of life.  I dropped him by the lunchroom and I have to carry him everywhere.

Parents Story by Philip Rupp

            My baby and I had a great time until my baby fell down the stairs.  My baby was sleeping when it happened so she died a horrible death.  Now I got a better one and her name is Catherin.  She cried when I told her about my other baby, but she is okay now.  I upgraded by house and now it is a lot better than my other one.  Now that my house is upgraded that’s the good thing.  The bad thing is that we have to carry them around everywhere we go.  The ugly thing is that a lot of us lost our babies.  This is by baby’s life so far

Henry Lawrence Montgomery by Carson Montgomery

            My baby got the name Henry Lawrence Montgomery and he is a lovely baby.  He isn’t a crier.  Henry loves the K-State Wildcats.  He loves his father.  If you leave him alone he will cry.  He loves to eat.  My baby enjoys having fun and doing a lot of stuff.  I love my baby.  He is a happy baby.  The bad thing is you have to take it everywhere.  Sometimes you may forget your baby somewhere.  My baby almost broke in the bathroom.  Let’s just say some of the eighth graders were messing around.  That is some of the things about my baby.

My Baby Project by Morgan Hawks

            My baby is a very good child.  So far I haven’t broken by egg yet.  She sleeps really well in the night and during the day.  She doesn’t get cranky.  She is really playful with her toys.  She likes her different kinds of channels.  When I have a lot of stuff to carry and when I’m holding my baby too, that is the bad.  There is no ugly.

            My baby’s name is Quinn.  He loves to be around people and animals.  He sleeps during the day but not at night.  I haven’t dropped him yet.  Wait, scratch that.  I tripped over Khrissanna’s foot and kurplop, there he went.  So there wasn’t any good thing about it.  Although, there were some bad things about it.  Number one, he has a girlfriend.  Number two, he has a girlfriend, and Number three, he has a girlfriend.  Now on to the uglies.  Oh wait, I already told you so never mind.  I have to go.  Quinn needs a diaper change.  Bye.
