This year, little Husky musicians will be learning fun facts about music and performing really cool songs! Here are our plans for the 2008-2009 school year.............................
The Kindergarten will be distinguishing between high and low sounds, loud and soft as well as moving to the music!
!st grade will recognize repeated notes, notes moving up or down and learn note values, rest values and musical terms.
2nd grade will start treble clef note reading, skips and steps, and will be performing basic rhythm patterns and learn basic keyboard skills.
3rd graders will study articulation and phrasing, the family of instruments, composing their own rhythms and ..........................recorders!
The 4th graders will study intervals, styles, time signatures, bass clef notation, tonic/dominant relationships and conducting!
The 5th graders will be challenged by major/minor tonalities, more complex rhythms (syncopation and changing meter), and vocal support (breathing).
The 6th grade will enjoy studying multi-cultural music, musical eras and composers, along with vocal technique.
