Middle School

Middle School Happenings (04 - 16 - 10)

By Robbie Griffiths

April 18, 2010

The days and weeks are flying by.  We, here at the Middle School, never have a dull moment.  By Friday, it is hard to say if the kids or the teachers are the most tired.  Myself, I vote for the teachers. This week was highlighted by a trip to Logan by the 6th graders on Monday to see a performance sponsored by the Hansen foundation, the 8th graders to the high school on Wednesday to hear and vote for Stuco officers, and our track meet in Norton on Thursday which was attended by everyone in our building.  On Friday, Abner Williams came to speak to the 8th graders on their quickly approaching high school years.  Let’s just say, we seem to always have something going on.

EIGHTH GRADE

We just had our second track meet.  We came home with two first place plaques.  Our Awards Banquet is coming up in two weeks.  After the banquet, we’re having our field trip.  First we go to go to Hastings to the I-Max.  We are then going to the Big Apple in Kearney.  Then we will have our graduation a week after that.  We are then done with school, but we have to come back for a track meet.  By Kolton, Ian, Dallas, and Dakota

Hello, this is Alex, Hunter, and Jordan.  We were at a track meet yesterday, the Northern ValleyR17;s track meet, and Alex helped with the discus.  The NV 7th and 8th grade boys got 1st place.  We also have a field trip coming up on April 27th.  We’re going to The Big Apple and the I-Max.  It is going to awesome.  We have an awards banquet coming up also.  Then it will be graduation, and we won’t be in middle school anymore.

SEVENTH GRADE

These past weeks we haven’t done much.  Some of the things we did do were going to two track meets.  The JH boys took 1st in both track meets while the girls have been trying hard.  We are looking forward to our field trip and the end of school which are both coming up soon.  The field trip is in Hastings and Kearney on the 27th.  On the last day of school, it’s Fun Day.  It’ll be fun because we get to play soft-ball with our parents.  So all in all, we wait in anticipation for the end of school.  Good-by school and hello summer.  Tea, Makayla, Khrissanna, Morgan, Destiney, Macy, and Gabriel

This is the cool group from 7th grade.  We had our second track meet already, can you believe how fast school is going by!  The Junior High boys won both track meets.  Phillip Bryant got four gold medals.  Stewart’s and Philip Rupp’s relay team did well.  Matt Stutsman is back in track.  He couldn’t participate at first because he had a knee brace on.  Carson did well at the track meet.  He didn’t place but he did very, very well.  Alyssa did well at the track meet, too.  Next week on Friday, we have an assessment party.  Our junior high field trip is coming up.  We get to go to the Big Apple in Kearney and the Hastings I-Max.  On the 26th of April we have our awards banquet.  Well this cool group has to go and do MORE work, so bye.  Matt, Stewart, Philip Rupp, Phillip Bryant, Carson, and Alyssa

You are speaking with Kobie, Clint, Brant, Ame, Kortny, Tony, and Tommy (Kortney’s mad because I spelled her name wrong.)  We had a track meet yesterday and the 7th and 8th grade boys got first.  The 7th and 8th grade girls got fifth.  Kortney broke a record in the 200m hurdles, and Clint is excited cause he made 4’8” in high jump.  Kobie made 13’2 and ¾” in the long jump.  Brant got 3rd in the ½ mile.  The first track meet the 6th and 7th grade boys got first AGAIN.  Well, we tied with P-burg for first.  We have about 3 more weeks until school’s out.  We have an Awards Banquet on the 26th and a field trip on the 27th.  Then we have a track meet at Quinter on the 30th.  We plan to have a lot of fun the remaining part of the school year.  And we are still Mrs. Griffiths’s favorite class and she loves us very much.  That’s all for now.  BYE
