NV H.S. Boys vs Wheatland/Grinnell

On Friday, Dec. 18, the Northern Valley Boys faced the Wheatland/Grinnell Thunderhawks in a WKLL Conference basketball game, on the Huskies' home court.

Northern Valley fell in a closely-contested, rapid-paced game, which led to overtime - 81-82.

"A well-played game in Almena could have gone either way," said N.V. Boys Head Coach Kevin Sides.  "My kids played extremely hard and deserved to win; but it just was not meant to be.  This team goes into the Christmas break 0-6; but with substantial youth, this team is turning heads.  We are going to be very successful after Christmas if they continue to work hard," commented Sides - as he wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Scorers for the varsity Huskies were: Bailey Sides, 24; Foster Brands, 20; Eric Loya, 16; Colton Bailey, 11; Kenton Thalheim, 6; Jeremiah Hansen, 2; Drew Schemper, 2.

After two quarters of play, the Junior Varsity Huskies  defeated the Thunderhawks 20-16. The Huskies' j.v. record stands at 5-0, going into the holiday break.

Scoring for the Huskies were: Drew Schemper, 8; Aaron Estes-Henrickson, 4; Brody Preston, 3; Jason Cox, 3; Kai Cox, 2.
