HS BB Boys 1/19/2021

At home on Tuesday, Jan. 19, the NVHS boys' basketball team earned a final, winning score of 63-32 over the Thunder Ridge Longhorns.

"The Husky boys improved their record to 3-7, winning their third straight victory," Coach Kevin Sides said.  "The Huskies used a smothering man-to-man defense and raced out to a 36-16 lead at half.  After putting another 22  points up in the third period, the clock ran in the fourth.

"Nine players scored and all 13 kids played.  Thalheim, Sides, and Bailey led scores with 13, 12, and 9.  We played pretty well, didn't shoot the ball like we're capable; but the kids played extremely hard, which I am most pleased with."

Scoring for the Huskies were: Kenton Thalheim, 13; Bailey Sides, 12; Colton Bailey, 9; Foster Brands, 8; Tharen Cox, 6; Eric Loya, 6; Jeremiah Hansen, 4; Clay Preston, 3; Drew Schemper, 2.

In J.V. action, the junior varsity Huskies defeated the Longhorns 86-31.

Scoring for the Huskies were: Drew Schemper, 23; Jeremiah Hansen, 17; Kai Cox, 12; Colton Bailey, 10; Brody Preston, 9; Aaron Estes-Hendrickson, 9; Jason Cox, 6.

The Huskies' undefeated record moves up to 8-0.
