HS BB vs Alma

On Tuesday, February 9, the NVHS boys' basketball squads traveled across the state line to face the Cardinals of Alma, Nebraska.  The NVHS Varsity boys came home with a 77-43 win.

"It was the Huskies' fifth basketball game in eight days, following a 60-58 win (at home) over the Stockton Tigers."

"With 11 players scoring, and four in double-digit figures, {the Huskies} led with Eric Loya, 14; and Colton Bailey, 12," Head Huskies Coach Kevin Sides reported.  "The Huskies improved their record to 9-8 for the season, and have won 9 of 10 games played.  I was afraid of tired legs and lack of focus after this stretch of games, but these kids love this game and could play every day.  Each time out, we get better and I love to see that as a coach."

Scoring for the Huskies, over the Alma, Cardinals were: Eric Loya, 14; Colton Bailey, 12; Foster Brands, 11; Jeremiah Hansen, 10; Bailey Sides, 8; Drew Schemper, 8; Clay Preston, 5; Kenton Thalheim, 5; Kai Cox, 2; Jason Cox, 2.

In junior varsity action, the NVHS boys' basketball team continued their undefeated season record to 10-0, after wining 30-21 over Alma (playing three quarters).

Junior Varsity Huskies scoring (over the Alma, Cardinals) were: Drew Schemper, 9; Brody Preston, 6; Aaron Estes-Hendrickson, 6; Jeremiah Hansen, 5; Kai Cox, 4.
