The mission of the Northern Valley USD 212 School Board is to make sure that every child in our district has an excellent education. Our board members have numerous responsibilities for our district. They develop policies and make decisions that shape the future of our district. They are also accountable for maintaining our annual budget. In addition to making important decisions for our students, staff, and campuses, the school board also meets with Kansas legislators and other policymakers to advocate for our schools. They represent two different districts (previously a six-district method that was changed in 2021). We are grateful for the work that these individuals do on behalf of our Huskies!

Board Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month unless otherwise noted in our district's "Events" section. The location alternates monthly between our Long Island and Almena campuses.

Great school board candidates are passionate about supporting students, teachers and staff and advocating for the value of public schools in their community and across Kansas. Effective school board members bring a wide range of experience, including involvement in a PTA/PTO, school foundation, site council, nonprofit organization or owning a business. A successful school board values a variety of individual experience, expertise and strengths that come together to make a difference in their community.
