Coach Lewis is asking for your help! He is working on building stat records for the NV High School Girls Basketball team but is missing many years' worth of data. If anyone has stat reports (maybe handed out at awards banquet) and would be willing to send or bring a copy to the school, it would be appreciated. Please do not put any stats in the comments we are asking for a physical copy only. Thanks in advance. Go Huskies. 💚🏀

Hey guys!! Here is our weekly agenda. Reminder, when attending post-season games none of the regular season passes work. Cruz Van Patten led the Huskies in scoring with seven points. Asher Van Patten led the team with five blocks. Jaden Johns collected eight boards to lead Northern Valley on the glass. Jaden Johns (6 points), Asher Van Patten (2 points), and Victor Alvarez-Santos (2 points) all contributed in scoring as well.

Westyn Lowry scored four points to lead the Huskies. Jaden Johns led the team on the boards with eight rebounds. Cruz Van Patten added 6 steals for the Huskies. Additional scorers for Northern Valley included Jaden Johns (2 points) and Cruz Van Patten (1 point).
B team final season record: 2-9
Comments from Coach Boehler:
In the A team tournament on Friday, we had a hard time making shots. We ran our offense relatively well and found decent looks most of the time, just were unable to shoot a good percentage. We started in a zone defense because I wanted to stay out of foul trouble with only having 6 players, and the Crusaders were able to make some outside shots. We switched to man defense later in the game and were able to force a few turnovers but in the end it was not enough.
The B team played two games on Saturday against Wheatland/Grinnell and Logan/Palco. We played with only 5 players on Saturday, so that was a challenge for us. Against Wheatland/Grinnell we started very slow, turning the ball over too much and not matching the other team's intensity level. Playing a morning game after an almost 2 hour trip to get to Brewster was probably a factor in that one. In game 2 against Logan/Paco we played defense very well for most of the game, we just could not make shots and struggled to rebound at times. We started to press late in the game and started forcing turnovers, but still struggled to create offense.
Despite not having a lot of success this season, I am proud of this group of boys because the effort was usually great and we refused to give in and check out despite a lot of losses. They have all become better basketball players and I have definitely grown as a coach.

Northern Valley Middle School Girls Basketball
Western KS Liberty League Tournament
Vs. Heartland Christian at the Colby Event Center
February 13.,2025
NV A-Team Girls (1 – 11)
1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr Final Score
Northern Valley 2 4 7 10
Heartland Christian 4 13 17 24
Scoring Ryelyn Cox – 2
Cambrie Sproul – 4
Kaylee Miller – 4
Coach Lowry’s Comments –
The A-team girls were excited to start their WKLL Tournament at the Colby Event Center. We had the play-in game against the Heartland Christian Crusaders losing 10-24. We were not able to match the intensity of our opponent, and we struggled to shut down their best player. This was not the ending we had hoped for, and the girls know there are things they could have done better. Cambrie Sproul and Kaylee Miller led the team with four points each and Annika McKinney led in rebounds with 6.
Overall, we ended the season with a 1-11 record. This was a young team that came to practice every day with the attitude of getting better but struggled to implement numerous things on the court. We are only losing one eighth grader next year so we will play with many of the same girls. I am excited to see this group grow as a team and anticipate more success next year.
