
On 4/18, the Huskies attended the Varsity Thunderhawk Invitational.
Results for the event from the Huskies- Kenton Thalheim 102, Conner David 111, Audrey Brubaker 126, Brooke Preston 141, Clay VanPatten 143.
On 4/19, several Huskies attended the Norton Varsity Invitational.
Results for the event from the Huskies- Conner David- 104, Jeremiah Hansen- 107, Jason Cox- 108, Clay VanPatten- 142, Audrey Brubaker- 146, Robert Vsetecka shot a 101 as well.
On 4/23, multiple Huskies attended the JV tournament in Alma, NE for 9 holes. It was a pretty good day for golf from the Huskies with two top ten finishers
Results for the Huskies- 6th place Jeremiah Hansen- 47, 8th place Robert Vsetecka- 49, Kenton Thalheim 52, Jason Cox- 58, Brooke Preston- 73.
On 4/25, three Huskies headed to the I-70 Classic in Ellis/WaKeeney. Due to the impending weather, the Huskies did not shoot 18 holes at Ellis and then travel to WaKeeney to shoot another round of 18, as planned. The meet ended up being 27 holes all shot in Ellis from the different tee markers, with the two men's tees being the scores taken for placing. Robert Vsetecka shot a 95, Jason Cox- 102, Conner David 119.
The Huskies head to the Norton JV meet on Tuesday 4/30 and the JV will travel to Plainville while the Varsity will travel to Oxford, NE on Thursday 5/2.







Northern Valley High School Track & Field
On April 26
th the Northern Valley High School Track & Field team traveled to Quinter to
compete in the Quinter HS Invitational. A total of 18 teams competed.
The NV Boys came home with 5th place. Bringing home medals were Owen Hammond with 2nd
in High Jump and the 300M Hurdles and 3rd in 110M Hurdles, Kenton Thalheim with 2nd in Pole
Vault and 5th in 400M, Gavin Thalheim with 3rd in Pole Vault and 4th in Javelin, and Jeremiah
Hansen with 2nd in Long Jump.
Coach Hansen, “The Huskies worked hard all day against some tough competition. The girls
may not have brought home any medals, but they competed hard setting set 3 new PRs. The boys
came away with 5th overall and they set 6 new PRs. The Huskies have had consecutive weeks of
new PRs showing growth within our athletes and the desire to continue to get better.”
The Huskies will travel to Phillipsburg Tuesday to compete in the Logan Invitation and then to
Mankato on Friday for the Rock Hills Invitational.

On April 19
th Northern Valley High School Track & Field team traveled to Osborne for the Kaiser
Relay. A total of fourteen teams competed. The NV Boys took 5th place and the Girls placed
10th. Bringing home medals were Owen Hammond with 2nd in High Jump and 3rd in the 300m
Hurdles, Gavin Thalheim with 1st in Javelin and 2nd in Pole Vault, Kenton Thalheim with 3rd in
Pole Vault, and for the girls, Jordyn Cox with 2nd and Daynah Bailey with 3rd in Pole Vault.

Coach Hansen, “The Huskies struggled today with some individual events, but we still had 6
new PRs set by the girls team. It will be nice to have a full week to recover and clean up a few
things.” Next Friday the Huskies will travel to Quinter to compete

Northern Valley Schools will be hosting the High School Awards Banquet Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m. at the Almena Community Building.
Senior and Junior Families bring a dessert.
Sophomore and Freshman Families bring a side dish.

Northern Valley High School Track & Field
On April 9th the Northern Valley High School Track & Field team traveled to Colby for
the 49th Annual Triplains Invitational. The NV Girls earned 6th place. Bringing home medals were
Laundry Gebhard with 2nd in the 3200m and Jordyn Cox with 3
rd in 100M Hurdles.
The NV Boys came home with 3
rd place with Kenton Thalheim bringing home 1st in the 400M
and Pole Vault, Gavlin Thalheim with 1st in Javelin and 2nd in Pole Vault, Owen Hammond with
1
st in the 110M Hurdles and High Jump and 3rd in Triple Jump, and Gabe Rudd with 3rd in Long
Jump.

Coach Hansen, “Tuesday was a beautiful day with the Huskies doing very well. The girls placed

th and the boys placed 3
rd as a team. Friday was a harder track meet against bigger
schools but the kids still performed well with 7 personal records set and many athletes trying
new events.” Next Friday the Huskies will travel to Osborne for the Kaiser Relays Track Meet.

The Junior class is having a great day doing a college visit at Kansas State University in Manhattan!

The Husky Varsity and JV were both out at meets on April 9th.
The JV headed to Grinnell for the 9-hole Thunderhawk Invitational. Freshman Conner David did well in his first meet hitting a 58. Sophomore Audrey Brubaker followed with a 59 and has continued to improve in her second year golfing. Sophomore Clay Van Patten finished with a 68 and Sophomore Brooke Preston did well in her first career meet with a 69. These four will travel to Oxford, NE for another 9-hole completion on April 11th.
The varsity squad headed to Shady Bend Golf Course in Osborne for a full 18 holes. Junior Robert Vsetecka led the way with a very strong shooting day with a 93 which was good for a 13th place finish. Seniors Jason Cox and Jeremiah Hansen shot 99 and 100 for 18th and 22nd place finishes, respectively. The varsity's next meet is a "home" meet at Norton on April 19th.
