Below you will find our results from our JH League Tournament and the last regular season game that the MS Huskies had Against Western Plains Healy. Huskies vs. WPH 10/12/23 The Huskies traveled to Ransom and even though the score doesn't show it we really did play well. The Huskies went against a very good passing team from Western Plains Healy who had a great setter and moved the ball well. The Huskies found a little hardship in their serves tonight and will look to better our movement and passing before the League Tournament. Huskies A team and B team both walked away with losses but played hard. There were multiple volleys that just didn't go our way. A Team Scores - Lost 9-25, 12-25 No scores for B Team or C team - wasn't able to get an answer from the other team for a picture of the book. Stats: Ace- Rene Horacek 1 Kill-Haedyn Cox 3, Josie Nech 3, Rene Horacek 1, Annika McKinney 1 Assist- Haedyn Cox 4, Rene Horacek 1 Dig- Andrea Meraz Parra 3, Josie Nech 3, Haedyn Cox 2, Rene Horacek 2, Annika McKinney 1, Cambrie Sproul 1 Serve Receive- Andrea Meraz Parra 1.5, Kaylee Miller 1.5, Josie Nech 1.4 10/19/23 WKLL Junior High League Volleyball Tournament The day was very competitive and the Huskies showed great fight ... it is a long day with the girls having to tough out 4 games. We are excited to report that we did beat Logan/Palco but came up short in the other 3 games. We were able to see teams that we saw at the beginning of the season and do much better than before. The growth that was on display trumped the losses. The girls truly played together and did a great job managing the large atmosphere of the games. The Junior High Huskies were able to take a few sets on the day and had to fight back multiple times. They had way less missed serves and played multiple volleys with great success. The 2023 season may not have gone on the record as one of our best years, but the MS Huskies never gave up and chose to focus on the little things that will make them much more competitive in the future. Coach McKinney and Coach Thalheim want to wish the 8th graders the best of luck and thank them for their leadership this year. They were great teachers and lead by example. Their hustle, compassion for their teammates, and hard work will be greatly missed next year! This is only an A team day and scores and stats are below. NV vs. Western Plains Healy - Lost 11-25, 25-21, 16-25 - The huskies set up the ball an amazing amount of times WPH just had a great game of movement. Ace- Rene Horacek 5, Haedyn Cox 5, Annika McKinney 1 Kill-Kaylee Miller 1, Josie Nech 1, Rene Horacek 1 Assist-Haedyn Cox 2 Dig- Serve Receive- Cambrie Sproul 2.5, Haedyn Cox 2, Rene Horacek 1.95, Josie Nech 1.7 NV vs. Logan/Palco - Won 15-25, 25-20, 29-27 TALK ABOUT A GAME TO WATCH!! The Lady Huskies hosted the Stockton Tigers and Logan/Palco Trojans on Tuesday night for their last home and regular season game. The varsity and jv swept the night winning all games. The varsity started the night off against the Tigers winning in a hard fought 3 set match. The Huskies lost the first set 20-25 but came back out with intensity and won the next two sets 25-17, 25-21. The Lady Huskies ended the night playing the Trojans in a quick 2 set match winning 25-10, 25-13. Coach Hansen commented, "Our last home game is always a fun night with it being Senior Recognition Night and topping that off with two solid wins made it that much better. The Huskies came out strong and ready to play. Coverage was strong and we played a mostly offensive game which is a great way to end regular season and go into post season." Coach Lowry commented on the jv game, “The NV JV girls ended the season with two wins added to their record. This was a fun year to watch the girls grow in their skill but also in their competitiveness. Our final two games were on our home court where the girls hustled and showed determination to end their season with two wins. We are proud of their effort and teamwork. “ The Lady Huskies will complete in the WKLL-NWKL League tournament on Thursday for pool play and Saturday for bracket play at the Colby Event Center.
